Fortnite for Android: Every Way to Install It

Fortnite returned to the Google Play Store in March 2026, but the Epic Games Store route still works. Here is each install path and which one you are on.

Fortnite for Android spent years off the Google Play Store. That changed on 19 March 2026, when the game returned to Play — but the sideload route still exists, and which one you are on matters if you already had it installed.

The easy way: Google Play

Search for Fortnite, check that the publisher line says Epic Games, and install. That is the whole process, and updates arrive through Play like any other app.

The Epic Games Store route

Still supported, and still how a lot of players have it:

  1. Open the Fortnite mobile page on epicgames.com in your browser.
  2. Tap Download for Android — this gets you the Epic Games App installer.
  3. Allow installs from unknown sources for your browser when Android asks.
  4. Open the Epic Games App, sign in, and install Fortnite from there.

Samsung owners have a third option: the Galaxy Store carries it directly.

If you already sideloaded it

Your Epic account carries everything — skins, V-Bucks, progress — so switching to the Play Store version costs you nothing. Uninstall the sideloaded copy first so two installs are not fighting over the same files, then sign in with the same account.

What not to install

Any Fortnite APK from a site that is not Epic or a platform store is not Epic's build. There is no legitimate third-party mirror, and there never has been.
