Roblox Download for Windows 10: Both Official Routes

Two legitimate installers, one set of system requirements, and a 64-bit rule that catches out older machines. Here is which route to take.

There are exactly two safe ways to do a Roblox download for Windows 10, and both come from Roblox or Microsoft. Anything else is somebody else's build of a free program, which tells you what it is for.

Route one: roblox.com

Open roblox.com, sign in, click any experience and press the green play button. The site hands you the Roblox Player installer, you run it, and the next play button launches straight into the game. This is the version that gets updates first.

Route two: the Microsoft Store

Search the Store for Roblox and check the publisher line says Roblox Corporation. It installs and updates like any other Store app, which is the easier option on a shared or managed PC. It can lag slightly behind the website build on patch day.

Both sign in to the same account. Nothing is split between them.

What your PC needs

  • 64-bit Windows 10, version 1809 or newer — the 32-bit builds are gone, and that is the usual reason an old machine refuses the installer.
  • A GPU with DirectX 10 feature level support or better.
  • A broadband connection; Roblox streams assets constantly.

Windows 7 and 8.1 were dropped in January 2025, so there is no working route there.

Roblox Studio

Creating rather than playing? Studio is a separate download from the Create page on roblox.com. Installing the player does not install it.
