Apex Legends Fade: The Legend Only Mobile Players Knew

He never existed in the PC or console game at all. Here is who Fade was, and why old guides still mention him as if he's playable now.

Apex Legends Fade is a name that only means something if you played the mobile version — he never existed in the PC or console game at all.

Who he was

Fade was an Assault-class Legend built exclusively for Apex Legends Mobile, the standalone spin-off developed by Tencent's Lightspeed and Quantum Studios and published by EA. He was part of the mobile roster alongside ports of the main-game Legends and other mobile-exclusive characters.

Why he's not in the game you're playing now

Apex Legends Mobile launched on 17 May 2022 and was shut down on 1 May 2023 — a run of under a year. Respawn never ported its mobile-exclusive Legends, including Fade, into the main PC/console game, and there's been no announcement suggesting that will change.

Why the search still shows up

Old mobile guides, tier lists and wikis are still indexed, and they don't distinguish clearly between "Apex Legends" the main game and "Apex Legends Mobile" the shut-down spin-off. Anyone finding one of those pages reasonably assumes he exists in the current game.

The practical answer

If you're looking for Fade to play as him, you can't — the game he belonged to no longer runs. His kit lives on only in archived mobile tier lists, since EA never carried his ability descriptions over to the main game's documentation.
