Is PUBG Down? How to Check Before You Blame Your Router

Most of the time it is scheduled maintenance, and the schedule is public. Here are the weekly windows and the order to check things in.

"PUBG down" is usually not an outage at all. The game takes scheduled maintenance every week, and if you cannot get into a lobby, the first thing worth checking is whether you have simply walked into the maintenance window.

The weekly windows

  • PC — Wednesdays, starting around 00:00–02:00 UTC.
  • Console — Thursdays, starting around 07:00 UTC.

Routine maintenance runs roughly four hours. A major update takes longer and normally forces a client patch download before you can queue again.

Where to check, in order

  1. The official PUBG status page — the authoritative source for live server state.
  2. @PUBG_Support on X — where emergency downtime and extensions get posted.
  3. Downdetector — useful only as a sanity check that others are affected too.
  4. Steam status, if you play on Steam. A Steam problem looks identical to a PUBG problem from the login screen.

When it is your end

If every tracker is green, work outward: restart the client, verify the game files, then confirm your matchmaking region is set to where you actually are. Connection errors that hit you and nobody else are almost never server-side.
