Red Dead Redemption 2 Iguana Location: Where to Look
1 min read
Small, green and very good at hiding in foliage. Here is the terrain iguanas favour and the one weapon choice that does not ruin the skin.
An iguana is small, still and coloured to disappear into leaves, so a Red Dead Redemption 2 iguana location is less about a pin on the map and more about knowing which terrain to slow down in.
The terrain that holds them
They favour warm, humid ground: the swamps and marshland of Lemoyne around Bayou Nwa, and the wetter stretches near Saint Denis. Cold, dry or high terrain will not have them.
Spotting one
They sit motionless on branches, rocks and fallen logs, which is exactly why most players walk straight past them. Use Eagle Eye and scan slowly rather than riding through at speed — a still iguana does not register at a glance.
What to shoot it with
It is a small animal with a small, easily ruined skin. A bow with a small game arrow, aimed for a clean single hit, is the only sensible choice. Anything with more punch than that turns the pelt into scrap.
Why bother
Iguana skin feeds specific Trapper crafting recipes that regular hides do not cover. It is a minor material, but a mandatory one if a recipe calls for it specifically.
