Apex Legends Best Legend: How to Actually Judge It
2 min read
There is no fixed answer — Season 30: Marked alone reworked one character and changed how every energy weapon plays. Here is how to judge it yourself.
Apex Legends best legend is a question with a different answer every season, and Season 30: Marked — live since 4 August 2026 — is a clean example of why a fixed ranking goes stale fast.
What changed this season alone
- Bloodhound was reworked. A new ultimate, a changed passive and a two-stage tactical scan replaced the previous kit outright — a character's rating can move overnight when that happens.
- Energy ammo now regenerates. Energy weapons no longer compete for ground loot, which shifts value toward Legends whose kits pair well with the Havoc, Volt, Nemesis and Triple Take.
- Corrupted Attachments replaced gold ones. Stronger bonuses with drawbacks attached reward Legends who can capitalise on a fight quickly, before the drawback matters.
How to actually judge a pick
- What role is missing from your squad — information, healing, mobility or raw damage — matters more than a tier list ranking.
- Solo queue versus a coordinated trio changes which kits are strong. Support Legends lean weaker without teammates who use their tools.
- Your own comfort with the mechanic. A Legend whose ability requires precise timing is not the best pick for you if you cannot land that timing consistently.
The honest answer
Any specific name is a snapshot of one patch. Check a current tier list dated to your live season rather than trusting a fixed pick.
