Apex Legends Mobile Android Store: Why It's Gone

Apex Legends Mobile Android store searches turn up nothing today, and that's not a bug on your end — the game itself no longer exists.

What happened

Apex Legends Mobile launched globally on 17 May 2022, built by Tencent's Lightspeed and Quantum Studios under EA's publishing. It never reached its second birthday: Respawn and EA shut the game down on 1 May 2023, citing it not meeting expectations, and pulled it from both the Google Play Store and the Apple App Store at that point.

If you already installed it

The app won't launch even if it's still sitting on your phone — the servers it needs to authenticate and connect are switched off permanently. Uninstalling it is the only outcome; there's no offline mode to fall back on.

What replaced it

Nothing official. EA hasn't announced a second attempt at a mobile version, and the main PC/console game has no plans to come to phones. If you want Apex on a handheld, cloud-streaming services that run the full PC version are the only working route.

A different game, not a spin-off mode

Apex Legends Mobile had its own roster quirks — an Assault Legend called Fade existed only there and never appeared in the main game — which is worth knowing if you see him mentioned in old mobile-specific guides.
