Call of Duty Black Ops III - Zombies Deluxe is a digital edition of the 2015 game aimed squarely at Zombies players, and it is a full copy of the game rather than an add-on.

What is in the box

• The full base game — campaign, multiplayer and Zombies.
• The Season Pass, covering all four DLC map packs.
• Zombies Chronicles, the expansion with eight remastered classic maps drawn from World at War, Black Ops and Black Ops II.
• The Giant, the remastered version of Der Riese that originally shipped as a pre-order bonus.
• Three personalisation packs — the Cyborg and Weaponized 115 packs plus a Black Ops 3 pack, each with a weapon camo, reticles and a calling card.

The naming confusion

The edition is listed as Zombies Deluxe on the Xbox store and Zombies Chronicles Deluxe on the PlayStation Store. Same bundle, different shelf label. On PC the equivalent is generally sold as the Zombies Chronicles Edition.

Is it worth it over the base game

If you only care about Zombies, yes — buying the base game and adding Zombies Chronicles separately costs more than the bundle in most regions, and Chronicles is the single largest Zombies content drop the series has ever had. The eight remastered maps include Nacht der Untoten, Verrückt, Shi No Numa, Kino der Toten, Ascension, Shangri-La, Moon and Origins.

The catch

Black Ops III is a 2015 game, and its PC version in particular has a long-standing reputation for matchmaking problems and lobby security issues. Zombies is largely playable solo or with friends in a private game, which sidesteps most of that — but it is worth knowing before you buy the edition specifically for online play.
