Call of Duty Warzone App: Two Different Things

COD HQ is the launcher you install the game through. The Companion App is a separate mobile app for stats and loadouts. Here is which one you want.

"Call of Duty Warzone app" usually means one of two separate things, and they're easy to confuse.

Call of Duty HQ

This is the actual game hub — the launcher installed on PC, PlayStation or Xbox that Warzone runs through. It's not optional: even a Warzone-only install goes through COD HQ, which also houses Black Ops 7's multiplayer, campaign and Zombies if you own it.

The Companion App

A separate, free mobile app for iOS and Android. It doesn't let you play — it's for checking stats, browsing and buying from the store, building loadouts away from your console or PC, and catching news and patch notes.

Which one you need

To actually play, you need COD HQ on your gaming platform. The Companion App is an optional extra for managing loadouts and checking your stats from your phone — genuinely convenient, but not required.

Availability

Both are free. COD HQ comes bundled with the Warzone install itself; the Companion App is a separate download from your phone's app store.
