Elden Ring Nightreign Balancers Weakness: Sleep

One status effect turns this fight from a scramble into a rhythm — the trick is making sure someone in the squad can actually apply it.

The Elden Ring Nightreign Balancers weakness that decides the fight is sleep, full stop — everything else about the encounter is secondary to getting that status applied.

Applying sleep reliably

Two routes work:

  • Sword of St. Trina — guarantees sleep on hit if it drops during the run. Whoever has it should carry that job for the squad.
  • Sleep Pots — craftable, and the dependable fallback when the sword has not appeared. Assign one player to carry a stock rather than hoping everyone brings their own.

Pairing it with the right damage

Once the Balancers are asleep, strike damage punishes the sleep window hardest. Powerful area attacks also do well here because of how the fight tends to spread combatants out across the arena.

Where squads go wrong

The most common failure is nobody actually carrying a sleep source into the fight — three players each assuming someone else has it. Confirm out loud before the fight starts, not during it.

A note on Executor

If your squad includes an Executor, this fight is one of his weaker match-ups without a sleep weapon in hand, since his kit leans on single-target deflects rather than area status application.
