Genshin Impact Font: What the Game Actually Uses
1 min read
The UI text and the logo are two different answers, and neither is a file you can simply download. Here is what is real and what is a lookalike.
The Genshin Impact font is not one font, and it is not downloadable in the form the game ships with. Two separate questions hide behind the search: what the interface uses, and what the logo uses.
The interface text
HoYoverse's UI runs on a proprietary tweak of HYWenHei-85W, a typeface from the Chinese foundry Hanyi Fonts. The in-house version rounds corners and reshapes glyphs to sit alongside Japanese text, so licensing the original gets you close rather than exact.
The logo
The wordmark is hand-built lettering rather than something you can type. The common community reconstruction pairs HYWenHei for "Genshin" with a decorative face for "IMPACT", usually identified as Mermaid — but the letterforms were adjusted, so expect to redraw joins by hand.
About the "free download" pages
Search results are full of them. What they serve is a lookalike, often a renamed freeware face, occasionally wrapped in an installer you do not want. Take one from a foundry you recognise instead.
If the project is commercial
Hanyi's fonts are commercially licensed and HoYoverse's variant is not licensed out at all. For anything sold, use a font you hold a licence for.
