Hogwarts Legacy Eye Chest Locations: How to Actually Open Them

Every Eye Chest holds the same 500 gold, and every one of them can spot you the moment you turn invisible too close. Here is the spell timing that avoids that.

Hogwarts Legacy eye chest locations are not fixed to a single region — Eye Chests, also known as Disillusionment Chests, are scattered across the whole map, and finding them is more about method than memorising a list.

Finding them

Cast Revelio. It highlights every nearby Eye Chest along with the rest of the collectibles in range, which is far more reliable than hunting by eye. If you play with camera shake on, a slight shake as you approach is also a tell that one is nearby.

Opening them without getting caught

Every Eye Chest reacts to movement in its line of sight, and it wants you invisible before you approach:

  • Cast Disillusionment while you are out of the chest's sightline, not in front of it — casting where it can see you gets you spotted regardless of the spell.
  • An Invisibility Potion works as a substitute, but it burns a consumable for only a few seconds of cover, so Disillusionment is the better habit to build.

What is inside

Every Eye Chest pays out the same: 500 gold. That consistency is what makes them worth detouring for early on, when 500 gold is a meaningful chunk of your budget rather than pocket change.
