Hogwarts Legacy Floating Candles Map: Full Solution

The candles in the sketch are not in the castle. They are in the Forbidden Forest, they only appear at night, and Lumos is what summons them.

The Hogwarts Legacy floating candles map is a treasure map from the Ghost of Our Love side quest, and the sketch is deliberately unhelpful — a row of candles hanging over a bridge, with nothing to say which bridge.

Getting the map

Where it spawns depends on your house:

Gryffindor — in Hogsmeade
Slytherin — in the Squid Cave
Ravenclaw — in the Owlery
Hufflepuff — in Upper Hogsfield

That split is why guides seem to contradict each other. Yours is at your house's location and nowhere else.

Where the candles are

The Forbidden Forest. Fast travel to the Forbidden Forest Floo Flame and head west until you reach the stone bridge — not the wooden one.

The two conditions

It has to be night. Sleep at any bed to skip forward if it is not.
Cast Lumos. The candles do not exist until your wand is lit. With Lumos up they flicker into view along the bridge.

Following them

Keep Lumos on and walk. The candles lead off the bridge and into the trees, one stretch at a time, and drop the spell and they vanish. Where the trail stops, a chest appears — open it and the treasure hunt is done.
