Hogwarts Legacy: How to Solve Door Puzzles

There is no single door puzzle in Hogwarts Legacy — there are four, and each one wants a different spell before it will open.

Hogwarts Legacy: how to solve door puzzles depends on which of four puzzle types you are actually standing in front of, because they do not share a solution.

Arithmancy doors

These show a maths equation using symbols in place of the digits 0–9. Nearby dice reveal what each symbol stands for — read them, work out the sum, and the door unlocks.

Alohomora lock doors

Cast Alohomora and a dial minigame opens. Rotate both dials into the correct position to pick the lock. Locks come in three levels, and Levels 2 and 3 need enough Demiguise Statues collected to upgrade the spell first.

Depulso puzzle rooms

Some doors hide platforming chambers rather than a lock. Cast Depulso to reveal the room, then shift platforms with Accio and Depulso to reach the loot.

Vault mechanisms

Treasure vaults add further variants: spell cubes that want Incendio, Levioso or Glacius depending on their platform; blocks stacked with Wingardium Leviosa to match a pattern; and bone totems gathered with Accio.

The habit that helps everywhere

Look at what is around the door before casting anything. Every puzzle leaves a clue nearby — dice, symbols, or the pieces themselves.
