Marvel Rivals Investigation Answers: How the Cases Work
2 min read
Two phases per case: gather highlighted clue words at the crime scene, then slot them into a written report in the right order.
People searching for Marvel Rivals investigation answers are usually stuck on one of the game's deduction events — the "Death of…" cases, which are pure puzzle content with no shooting in them at all.
How a case is structured
Each event contains standalone mystery cases, and every case runs in two phases:
- The crime scene. You examine an illustrated scene by clicking marked points of interest. Each one returns dialogue, an environmental description or a witness account, with important words highlighted as clues. Those clue words drop into a clue inventory.
- The report. You complete a written report by filling its blanks with the clues you collected. Wrong clues can be swapped out, so the puzzle is about ordering, not about a single irreversible guess.
The catch is phase one: if you skip a point of interest, the clue you need in phase two is simply not in your inventory. When the report cannot be completed, the fix is almost always to go back and click something you missed.
Death of Wolverine
The clue order for that case, in sequence: BUCKY, HYDRA, MURDERED, FAMILY, WOLVERINE, BERSERKER RAGE, HOST, MECHANICAL ARM, TENTACLES, HIVE CELLS, BLOOD, HEALING FACTOR.
Death of Apocalypse — the final truth
The last step is not a word puzzle but a symbol placement. Click Apocalypse's corpse to review it, then place the Corpse Hand symbol in the left slot, the Phoenix Force symbol in the right slot, and the Undead Energy symbol in the top slot. Press Reveal the Truth to close the case.
A warning about answer lists
These events rotate — Death of Wolverine, Death of Apocalypse, Death of Gambit and others have each run in different seasons, and NetEase has adjusted cases between reruns. An answer list from an earlier season may not match the case in front of you. Check that the guide names the same case you are actually playing.
