Rocket League Account Linking: How Cross-Progression Works
1 min read
Linking your platforms to one Epic Games Account is what gives you a single inventory and a single rank. Here is the process, and the two things that never transfer.
Rocket League account linking ties your PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo or Steam copy to a single Epic Games Account, so one inventory and one rank follow you around. An Epic account is required to play at all; linking turns that requirement into cross-platform progression.
How to link
- Go to rocketleague.com/activate and log in with your Epic account.
- Sign in to each platform you play on.
- Set a Primary Platform.
Choose the Primary Platform carefully
Your Primary Platform is the source of your progression: Rocket Pass progress, Competitive Rank and XP level. Pick the account with the most on it, not the console you are sitting at. Change Primary reverses it later.
What does and does not move
- Items are usable from any linked account but stay registered to the platform they came from. Unlink and you lose access.
- Credits and Esports Tokens do not transfer. They are spendable only where they were bought.
One account per platform type
A single Epic account takes one PlayStation, one Xbox, one Steam login — linking works across platforms, not within one. There is no merge tool for two Epic accounts, so pick the right one first.
