Rocket League Items: How to Get Them Now Trading Is Gone
1 min read
Player-to-player trading has been switched off since December 2023. These are the routes that still exist, and the one system people forget.
Rocket League items no longer change hands between players. Epic switched player-to-player trading off on 5 December 2023 and it has not come back, so any guide telling you to find a trade partner is out of date — and any site still advertising trades is a scam.
Where items come from now
- The Item Shop. A rotating storefront, bought with Credits.
- Blueprints. Dropped after online matches. You see exactly what you would build before paying the Credits to build it.
- Rocket Pass. Free and premium tracks, unlocked by playing.
- Challenges and season rewards. Time-limited, no money involved.
- Fan Rewards drops. Cosmetics for watching RLCS broadcasts.
Trade-In still exists
Trade-In was never removed, and it is the part people miss. Feed it five items of the same rarity and it returns one random item of the next rarity up, climbing Rare, Very Rare, Import, Exotic and finally Black Market. Duplicate blueprints count too.
Everything is account-bound
What you own is usable across every platform linked to your Epic Games Account, but each item stays registered to the platform that granted it. Credits do not move between platforms at all.
