The Witcher 3 Interactive Map: How to Actually Use It
1 min read
The in-game map already filters by category, and it is the fastest way to plan a route — most players just never dig into the options.
The Witcher 3 interactive map most players reach for first is the one built into the game — it just takes a minute to learn where the filters live.
The in-game map
Open the map and use the filter panel to toggle categories on or off: question marks, points of interest, merchants, notice boards, and more. Turning everything on at once is what makes Velen feel overwhelming — filter down to one or two categories and plan a route instead of chasing every icon.
Witcher Senses on top
Once you are near a marked location, Witcher Senses highlights the actual interactive object — footprints, blood trails, hidden entrances — so the map gets you close and your senses do the rest.
Community maps
Third-party interactive maps built by fan sites layer on extra data the game does not show by default, such as every Gwent card location or every Witcher gear diagram in one view, which is useful specifically when you are trying to finish a full collection rather than just explore.
The practical approach
Use the in-game map for normal play, and only reach for a community one when you are deliberately hunting down the last few collectables.
