Call of Duty Warzone Free Download: Full Guide
1 min read
Warzone costs nothing to install, but the client is large and old-gen consoles are no longer offered as fresh downloads. Here is what to expect.
A Call of Duty Warzone free download gets you the entire battle royale at no cost — there is no premium version and no paywall on the modes themselves.
Where to get it
Warzone installs through the Call of Duty HQ launcher, so grab it from Steam, Battle.net, the PlayStation Store or the Microsoft Store depending on your platform. All four feed the same client and the same cross-play pool.
Budget serious storage
This is not a small download. Storefront listings have swung between roughly 100GB and well over 150GB depending on which content packs are installed, and seasonal updates add more on top. Check the listing before you start, and install to an SSD — HDD support has been dropped entirely.
The platform catch
New installs are no longer offered on PlayStation 4 or Xbox One. Starting fresh now means a PS5, Xbox Series X|S or a PC that clears the current minimum spec.
After it installs
Sign in with an Activision ID, link your platform account, and Battle Royale, Resurgence and Plunder are all available from the same menu with nothing else to buy.
