GTA Online helicopter locations worth checking are the places where free-roam spawns are common, not guaranteed — treat any of them as a maybe, not a certainty.
Reliable-ish spots
- Los Santos International Airport — regular civilian aircraft traffic, including helicopters near the terminal.
- Sandy Shores Airfield — a quieter, less-policed spot in Blaine County where light aircraft turn up.
- Fort Zancudo — military helicopters sit on the base, but going in unarmed gets you a wanted level fast; this is a smash-and-grab, not a stroll.
Why spawns are not the plan
Free-roam vehicle spawns are randomised and can be empty when you arrive, so nothing here is a guaranteed pickup.
The reliable alternative
Buy one. A Hangar or Facility stores personal aircraft, and once you own a helicopter it is a Request Vehicle call away from the Interaction Menu — no driving to an airfield, and no risk of finding the pad empty.
