Hao's Special Works is locked to current-generation consoles and gated behind a short unlock chain. Here is exactly what it takes and what it costs.

GTA Online HSW — Hao's Special Works — is the performance upgrade tier that sits above every other tuning shop in the game, and it comes with a hard platform requirement people miss.

Who can access it

HSW launched exclusively on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, as part of the Expanded and Enhanced release — it was the first GTA Online content locked to current-generation consoles. PC and previous-gen console players cannot use it.

How to unlock it

  1. Take a call from Hao during freemode.
  2. Complete his introductory tasks, including a time trial.
  3. Head to the LS Car Meet.
  4. Buy a membership from Mimi for full access to the meet and Hao's garage.

What it costs

Converting an eligible car to HSW spec is a separate purchase on top of owning the vehicle. Conversions run from roughly $375,000 for the cheapest up to $1,840,000 for the most expensive, checked August 2026.

What you get

Higher power ceilings than any Benny's or LS Customs upgrade, plus HSW-specific liveries. It's a vanity and top-speed upgrade, not something the base game requires you to chase.
