Hogwarts Legacy Isadora: The Story of Isidora Morganach

Hogwarts Legacy Isadora is how most people search for her, though the game spells it Isidora — Isidora Morganach, the witch whose story the entire main quest is excavating.

Where she came from

Isidora was born in Feldcroft, the Scottish hamlet you visit during the game. Her ability to see and use ancient magic surfaced when she was fifteen. As a girl she watched the four Keepers — Percival Rackham, Charles Rookwood, Niamh Fitzgerald and San Bakar — end a drought that had been killing her village.

What broke her

The rescue came too late for her brother, who died. Her father withdrew into grief and stopped speaking to anyone. Rackham took Isidora on as a student and taught her to control ancient magic, but he refused her the one thing she wanted it for: taking her father's pain away.

She did it anyway. And it worked — which was the problem.

The repository

Convinced that pain itself was the thing to be removed, Isidora escalated from her father to Hogwarts students, bringing them down to the Keepers' Caverns beneath the castle to be "healed". She commissioned a goblin to build the final repository, a container for all the extracted pain, and kept it there.

What she was actually doing was hollowing people out. Grief removed took the rest of the person with it.

How it ended

The Keepers judged this a grave misuse of ancient magic and asked her to stop. She refused, and the confrontation became a duel in the Keepers' Caverns — four against one. Isidora died there.

Why she still matters

The repository survived her, and it is what Ranrok spends the game trying to reach. Isidora is not a villain you fight; she is the reason there is anything to fight over, and her journal entries are the game's most direct argument that ancient magic is a thing worth being frightened of.
