League of Legends App: Riot Mobile and the Rest

Riot ships one official companion app and it is deliberately not a coaching tool. Here is what it covers and which third-party apps fill the gaps.

The official League of Legends app is Riot Mobile, and it is not a game — it is a companion for the account you already have. It replaced League Friends and League+, and it covers Valorant, Wild Rift, Teamfight Tactics and Legends of Runeterra alongside League itself.

What Riot Mobile does

  • Cross-game friends list and chat, so you can message from your phone
  • News, patch notes and video in one feed
  • Esports schedules and VODs, with spoiler protection
  • Profile lookups: rank, champion mastery and recent games
  • Drops and rewards for watching streams

It is free on iOS and Android.

What it does not do

There is no live match overlay, no build recommendations and no deep stat history. Riot keeps the coaching layer out of it on purpose.

The third-party layer

For anything analytical, players use separate tools. OP.GG and Porofessor cover lobby scouting and match history; Mobalytics and Blitz lean towards builds and post-game review. These read Riot's public API, which is allowed — but treat anything asking for your account password as phishing. A legitimate tool only ever needs your Riot ID.
