Overwatch 2 Bastion Guide: Configurations and Kit
1 min read
Bastion trades mobility for firepower and back again mid-fight — and his exact configurations have changed more than most heroes.
Overwatch 2 Bastion is a Damage hero built around switching configurations mid-fight, trading mobility for firepower and back again depending on what a fight calls for.
Core kit
- Recon configuration — his default, mobile form, armed with a submachine gun-style primary fire.
- A stationary turret configuration — trades movement entirely for much heavier sustained damage, but leaves him exposed while it's active.
- Self-repair — restores his own health over time, letting him sustain through a fight without relying on a Support.
- Configuration: Artillery — his ultimate, a barrage that hits a wide area from a fixed position.
Playstyle
The turret configuration wins a fight outright if the enemy walks into it unprepared, but standing still is a liability against any hero with mobility or a flanking route — cover and positioning matter more for Bastion than for most Damage heroes.
Why older guides describe him differently
Bastion has been reworked more than most heroes in the roster's history. Treat specific numbers as a snapshot and check the in-game hero gallery for his current kit before building a strategy around it.
