Overwatch 2 Junkrat plays Damage around area denial and chip damage, rewarding players who think in zones rather than direct duels.
Core kit
- Frag Launcher — his primary weapon, a grenade launcher that bounces off walls and explodes on a delay or on impact with an enemy.
- Concussion Mine — a thrown mine that knocks back anything near it, doubling as extra mobility when he detonates one under his own feet.
- Steel Trap — a hidden trap that roots anyone caught in it, setting up follow-up damage.
- Total Mayhem — his passive, dropping live grenades around him when he dies.
- RIP-Tire — his ultimate, a remote-controlled explosive vehicle he drives manually into a target.
Playstyle
He's strongest holding chokepoints and denying space with Frag Launcher's splash damage rather than chasing precise kills — most of his damage comes from area coverage, not headshots. Concussion Mine jumps let him reach angles other Damage heroes can't.
Where he fits
Good against grouped-up teams and slow compositions that sit still under his grenade spam. Fast, spread-out dive comps are harder for him, since there's less of a cluster for Frag Launcher to punish.
