Overwatch 2 Dva Guide: Tank Kit, Perks and Playstyle

D.Va's mech has always been about eating damage other tanks can't. Here's the current kit and how to use it.

Overwatch 2 Dva remains one of the easiest tanks to pick up and one of the hardest to master, because her whole kit is built around soaking damage other tanks simply have to walk away from.

Core kit

  • Fusion Cannons — short-range spread shot, best used up close.
  • Boosters — a directional dash that also flies, used to engage or disengage.
  • Defense Matrix — eats incoming projectiles in a cone in front of her, the ability her whole kit revolves around.
  • Micro Missiles — a burst cooldown for extra damage in a fight.
  • Self-Destruct — eject the mech and it detonates after a delay, forcing the enemy off the point or punishing anyone who doesn't see it coming.
  • Call Mech — after ejecting, she can call in a fresh mech rather than staying on foot indefinitely.

The Facetanking perk

A recent perk option lets Defense Matrix heal her: mitigate enough damage with it and she recovers a slice as health, rewarding players who hold it up rather than saving it for one big block.

Playstyle

She dives backlines, eats cooldowns other tanks can't survive, and trades her mech rather than her life. Losing the mech is a reset, not a death.
