Overwatch 2 Item Shop: How It Works and What Rotates

1 min read

The item shop and the battle pass sell different things — mixing them up is the easiest way to spend coins on the wrong item.

The Overwatch 2 item shop is a separate system from the battle pass, and the two get confused often enough that it's worth being clear about what each sells.

What's in the shop

A rotating selection of skins, sprays, emotes and voice lines, refreshed on a regular cycle rather than staying static. Featured items usually include at least one higher-rarity skin alongside cheaper picks.

Rarity tiers

Items are priced by rarity — Epic, Legendary and the premium Mythic tier sit at different price points, with Mythic skins typically the most expensive.

Currency

Purchases use Overwatch Coins, bought with real money or earned in small amounts through the battle pass's free and premium tracks. Coins don't expire once purchased.

Shop vs battle pass

The battle pass is a season-long track you level up through play; the item shop is a direct storefront with no levelling involved. A battle pass skin isn't in the shop while its season is active.

Checking what's live

The shop's current rotation and end date are shown in-game — the only place that reflects the live selection accurately.
