Rocket League Gifts: Can You Send Items to Friends
1 min read
Trading closed in December 2023, and Epic's own gifting system excludes free-to-play currencies by design. Here is what that leaves.
Rocket League gifts run into two separate walls, and it helps to understand both before you go looking for a workaround.
Trading is off
Player-to-player trading was switched off on 5 December 2023 and has not returned. That was the old way to hand an item to someone else, and it no longer exists — any site claiming to broker a gift or trade outside the game is a scam.
Epic's gift system does not cover it
The Epic Games Store has a general gifting feature for premium games and DLC, but it excludes free-to-play in-game currencies — Rocket League Credits work the same way Fortnite V-Bucks do, and neither can be gifted to another account.
What you can actually do
- Buy Premium Rocket Pass or Credits using someone else's login — a workaround some players use with accounts they fully trust, like a partner.
- Give a friend an Epic Games Store gift card, which they then spend on Rocket League Credits themselves.
- Trade-In still works on your own account, even though direct gifting does not.
The honest summary
There is no button for sending an item or Credits to another player. Anything claiming otherwise is a scam.
