Call of Duty Black Ops DLC: Every Map Pack Explained
2 min read
Four map packs, sixteen multiplayer maps and eight Zombies maps — and a 2026 re-release that sells them all over again.
Call of Duty Black Ops DLC for the 2010 game came in four content packs, each bundling four multiplayer maps with one Zombies map — except the last, which broke the pattern entirely.
First Strike
Released 1 February 2011 on Xbox 360, 3 March on PS3 and 25 March on PC. Multiplayer maps: Berlin Wall, Discovery, Kowloon, Stadium. Zombies map: Ascension, the Soviet cosmodrome map that introduced the Gersh Device and the monkeys that steal your perks.
Escalation
Multiplayer maps: Convoy, Hotel, Zoo, Stockpile. Zombies map: Call of the Dead, set on a frozen film set with George A. Romero as a boss and a playable crew of Danny Trejo, Sarah Michelle Gellar, Michael Rooker and Robert Englund.
Annihilation
Released 28 June 2011 on Xbox 360. Multiplayer maps: Drive-In, Silo, Hangar 18, Hazard. Zombies map: Shangri-La, the jungle temple map with the water slide and the Napalm and Shrieker zombies.
Rezurrection
The outlier: released 23 August 2011 on Xbox 360 and 22 September on PS3 and PC, it contained no multiplayer maps at all. Instead it delivered Moon plus remastered versions of the four World at War maps — Nacht der Untoten, Verrückt, Shi No Numa and Der Riese. Moon's easter egg destroys the Earth, which remains one of the boldest things the series has done with its own canon.
Buying it in 2026
Activision's native PS5 and PS4 port of Black Ops, released July 2026, ships the base game only — campaign, multiplayer and Zombies — with the DLC sold separately as a season pass. It launched at $10 during the promotional window and rises to $30 afterwards. If you own the old console versions, none of that carries across.
