Call of Duty Warzone Guns: How the Arsenal Works

Every weapon category, how Gunsmith customisation fits together, and why the roster reset when Black Ops 7 integration landed. Checked at Season 5.

Call of Duty Warzone guns span the usual battle royale categories, and where the arsenal comes from has changed with the Black Ops 7 integration.

The categories

  • Assault Rifles — the flexible middle ground for most engagement ranges.
  • SMGs — close-range mobility, weak past mid-range.
  • LMGs — sustained fire and big magazines, at the cost of handling speed.
  • Sniper and Marksman Rifles — long-range one-shot or two-shot potential.
  • Shotguns — point-blank finishers, especially indoors.
  • Pistols and melee — backup options rather than primaries.

Where the current roster comes from

Season 01 of the Black Ops 7 integration brought across the full BO7 base arsenal — around 30 weapons at launch — plus that season's additions, and every season since has added more on top through the Battle Pass and weapon events.

Gunsmith

Every gun takes attachments across optics, barrels, magazines, underbarrel and stock slots, each with real trade-offs rather than flat upgrades — a longer barrel usually costs handling speed for range, for instance.

Checking what is strong right now

Which guns dominate shifts with nearly every balance patch, so treat a specific tier list as good for weeks, not the whole season.
