The base game: six

Five main endings, reached through Panam's or Rogue's questlines, trusting Arasaka, or taking the suicide option, plus one secret ending unlocked through a specific dialogue choice in Chippin' In followed by staying silent for five minutes at the final rooftop conversation. That is six distinct outcomes in the unexpanded game.

Phantom Liberty adds branches on top

The expansion's own story — built around Songbird, Solomon Reed and NUSA — branches into several additional outcomes depending on whether you help or betray Songbird, and those choices then feed into which version of the base game's ending plays out.

Why the total varies

Guides that count every unique combination of relationship states and final slides can land anywhere from nine to well over a dozen. Guides counting only the structurally distinct final missions tend to land closer to the base six plus Phantom Liberty's branch. Neither figure is wrong — they are answering slightly different questions.
