Elden Ring Nightreign Gladius: Weakness and Boss Strategy
1 min read
Gladius, Beast of Night is the game's first Nightlord, and holy damage plus bleed take it apart faster than anything else.
Elden Ring Nightreign Gladius — full title Gladius, Beast of Night, known in the community as Tricephalos — is the first Nightlord most players meet, and it has two clean weaknesses.
Weaknesses
- Holy damage — landing it staggers the boss and applies a debuff that lowers its attack and defence.
- Bleed — extremely effective on top of holy, chunking health with each proc.
Attack patterns
- Horizontal sweeps into a jumping slam — the slam leaves a real opening afterwards.
- A roar before it splits into three separate wolves — play more defensively here and have each squad member hold one wolf.
- Lunges once split, telegraphed enough to read safely.
Strategy
Send a ranged caster like Recluse to hit it with holy spells from range while melee runs holy- and bleed-infused weapons up close. Breaking its stance opens up a visceral attack for big damage. Recommended level for a standard fight is around 13.
