Chasing Hogwarts Legacy all side quests means a specific number: 57. On PlayStation it is 58, because of one platform-exclusive quest.
How the game splits its quests
The Field Guide keeps four separate quest categories, and only one of them is "side quests":

That distinction matters for completion. Finishing every side quest unlocks The Good Samaritan trophy or achievement, and it does not require the assignments or the relationship quest lines — those have their own trackers.
The PlayStation exclusive
Minding Your Own Business, the Haunted Hogsmeade Shop quest, shipped as a PlayStation exclusive. It is the reason PlayStation players see 58 where other platforms see 57, and it awards its own shop location that other versions never get.
Ones that can be missed
A handful of side quests are attached to characters or locations that the main story moves past. The safest approach is to clear side content in a region before advancing the main quest that changes it, and to talk to every NPC with a quest marker in Hogsmeade after each story beat — a good number of side quests are handed out there rather than found in the world.
Time expectations
Side quests range from two-minute fetch errands to full dungeon runs with combat encounters. Budget somewhere in the region of fifteen to twenty hours for all 57 on top of the main story, more if you are picking up collectibles as you travel between them — which you should be, since most side quests send you across regions you would otherwise have to revisit.
