Elden Ring Heretical Rise: How to Get In

A sealed tower in the Mountaintops of the Giants that only opens once you find its invisible path.

The Elden Ring Heretical Rise sits west of the frozen lake in the eastern Mountaintops of the Giants, and its main door is sealed shut from the start — the puzzle is getting in at all.

Finding the way in

An imp statue near the tower carries the clue: "Falling snow marks something unseen." The path itself is an invisible walkway starting at a broken bridge south-west of the Freezing Lake Site of Grace. Walk out onto empty air from there and it holds your weight; the walkway bends east partway along and climbs upward toward the tower.

What happens once you are inside

Reaching the tower and stepping onto its base breaks the seal on the main entrance, so the door works normally from then on if you need to leave and come back.

What is at the top

Head up the interior stairs, take the lift, climb the next flight — there is an enemy waiting on the last stretch of steps — and open the chest in the top room for the Founding Rain of Stars sorcery.

The main risk

The walkway is narrow and invisible either side of the marked path, so a mistimed step off it is a straight fall. Go slowly rather than sprinting the route blind.
