Cyberpunk 2077 David Martinez: The Edgerunners Side Job
2 min read
David never appears in the game, but the quest built around him does — and it ends with his jacket.
Cyberpunk 2077 David Martinez is the protagonist of the Edgerunners anime, not a character you meet in the game. What the game has instead is a side job built as a tribute to him, added in update 1.6 — Over the Edge.
Starting it
Go to Megabuilding H4 in Arroyo, in Santo Domingo, and look for the side job icon. It points down an alley marked with a green symbol on the wall, where a braindance is sitting in a bin.
Play the braindance. You get a short clip from the series and a blunt warning not to end up the way David did.
Then you wait
This is where people think the quest is broken. Nothing happens immediately — 24 in-game hours have to pass. After that, a message arrives from Falco, a member of the crew, who does not want to meet but offers something to remember David by.
Collecting the jacket
Head to the Santo Domingo Dam, where El Capitan is parked. David's Jacket is in the crate behind him.
It is Legendary-quality outer torso gear, so it is not just a cosmetic — it holds up as armour well into a late-game build, which is more than most tie-in items manage.
The rest of the tribute
Update 2.0 added memorials across the city for other members of the crew, scattered as environmental easter eggs rather than quests. They are worth finding if the show landed for you.
