Cyberpunk 2077 Iconic Cyberware and Where It Comes From
2 min read
The best implants in the game are not sold by ripperdocs. Two of them are locked to specific ending paths.
Cyberpunk 2077 iconic cyberware arrived with Phantom Liberty, and unlike iconic weapons, several pieces cannot simply be bought or looted whenever you feel like it.
The standouts
Quantum Tuner. Widely considered the single strongest implant in the game. It boosts damage and instantly resets the cooldown on Berserk, Sandevistan or Optical Camo — which, on a Sandevistan build, is close to permanent uptime. It is a reward for following a specific ending path.
Cockatrice Optics. The largest crit-chance increase available anywhere.
Stalker Optics. The alternative to Cockatrice for tech-weapon builds, trading crit for the ability to see further through walls.
Chitin. The survivability pick. Health regeneration scales by 10% per point of Body, up to 200%, so it grows with a Body-heavy build rather than being a flat bonus.
Militech Canto. An iconic cyberdeck with a unique quickhack, also locked to one of Phantom Liberty's ending paths.
Where to find them
Two sources. The Dogtown ripperdocs stock several, and Dogtown is where you should be checking rather than the base-game clinics you already know. The rest are quest rewards — finish the right gig or the right ending and it appears.
Plan around the ending paths
This is the part worth knowing before you play. The Quantum Tuner and the Militech Canto sit on different branches of Phantom Liberty's conclusion. A single playthrough cannot collect both, so decide which build you are actually running before the choice arrives.
